Threshold Operations Unaffected by Mass Power Outage

August 25, 2003 – Mississauga -- The ABM and transaction processing services provided by Threshold Financial Technologies Inc. (Threshold) were not impacted by the wide-spread power failure that hit the eastern seaboard Thursday, August 14th. Most of Ontario’s power supply was affected at least until Friday morning, with many businesses experiencing serious interruptions in their operations.

“We were highly impressed with Threshold’s resilience to this major power failure”, commented Mike Alexander, President and CEO or All Trans Credit Union Limited, a Toronto-based credit union. “Our members were still able to process transactions, where power was available, without any interruption whatsoever”.

Similar comments came from Tom Gregoriades, Senior Vice-President, Service Delivery and Operations at CS CO-OP, Canada’s eighth largest credit union, based in Ottawa. “Threshold’s systems performed flawlessly”, he said. “Their backup procedures operated as predicted and service was seamless”.

“Having invested substantially in backup systems to address unforeseen circumstances such as these, we were pleased that we were able to maintain uninterrupted service for our clients and that our systems performed as expected”, stated Matthew McIver, President of Threshold.
